Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Rubicon Prep ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Rubicon Prep study application at https://app.rubiconprep.study (the "App") and our related services. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address when you create an account, and payment details handled by our payment processor (we never store full card numbers).
- Study data: your answers, scores, practice history, and progress, which power your study plan and reports.
- Classroom data: if a teacher enrolls you in a class, your class, group, attendance, and assignment records.
- Usage data: device, browser, pages visited, and timing information, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without parental or school consent.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and improve the App, including personalized practice, lessons, and reports.
- To communicate with you about your account, your progress, and our services.
- To let teachers and school administrators you are enrolled with see your progress.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
3. Sharing your information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App (hosting, authentication, payments, email), with teachers and schools you are enrolled with, and with legal authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
4. YouTube API Services
Our staff-only publishing tool uses YouTube API Services to upload our own instructional videos to our own YouTube channel and to read the public view, like, and comment counts of those uploads. By using that tool, our staff users agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- What we access: the ability to upload videos to our channel and to read public statistics for the videos we uploaded. We do not access, collect, or store any data about other YouTube users or their channels.
- What we store: the YouTube video IDs of our own uploads and their public view, like, and comment counts, refreshed daily and kept for internal performance reporting.
- Retention: stored YouTube data is retained for up to 30 days after the related post record is removed, then deleted. Google OAuth tokens are stored only in our server's encrypted environment configuration and never shared.
- Revoking access: the channel owner can revoke our access at any time through the Google security settings page, which immediately stops all API access. You may also email us to request deletion of any stored YouTube data.
- No advertising use: we do not use YouTube API data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
5. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights and choices
You may access, update, or delete your personal information by contacting us. You may opt out of marketing email through the unsubscribe link in any message. Account deletion removes your study data from our systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
